THE 2008 MSA BRITISH SUPERKART GP - Update

Once again the UK`s only International Karting event and the biggest festival of gearbox kart racing any where in Europe and maybe the world is almost upon and we very much look forward to welcoming  the very best drivers from the UK and Europe.

We already have entries from the UK , Norway , Germany , France , Denmark and Holland and they include multiple World and European Champions so we are sure of a really tremendous event.    We have even ordered good weather !!!!!?????

THERE IS STILL TIME TO ENTER

GP races will be run for Division 1 & 2 Superkarts, F250 National, F125 Open, F125ICC (KZ2 UK), KZ1 & F210 National assuming we have sufficient entries per class

The meeting will feature qualifying races for the International Superracekart Series (Pre Final and Final)

In addition to the GP`s there will be British and National Championship qualifying races for all classes on the Saturday of the event plus rounds of the Gearbox Masters Series for F250 National and F125 ICC.

The British Historic Kart Club will also be on hand to display and demonstrate their unique karts during the weekend.

Entertainment will be provided in the club house on Saturday night to which all are invited to have a great night.

So a great weekend of gearbox kart racing and fun for all the family is in prospect so if you have not entered yet then there is still time to get an entry in. If you are not racing then why not come along to support the event and see the very best  drivers test themselves around this unique and challenging parkland circuit

Whilst you are welcome to arrive at the circuit on Thursday please note that there is a track day taking place on Thursday so access will be restricted until after 17.30.

We will be sending out final instructions and passes the weekend before the event but we are going to commence signing on and scrutineering from 16.00 on Friday 18th  This will continue also on Saturday morning first thing.

The passes for our overseas friends will be either left at the circuit gate or handed out to the drivers on Thursday/Friday as either John or Ian will be there.

Entries are expected from within the International Superracekart Series for Division 2 so drivers from the UK F250 National class who wish to transfer to Div. 2  for the Sunday races (i.e after their Championship rounds on Saturday) this can be arranged. It should however be noted that an International C licence would be required as its part of an International Championship series.

We will be having two award ceremonies besides the GP podium awards, one after qualifying on Saturday and one after the GP finals on Sunday.

This provisional event timetable above has assumed we will get over 40 entries in Div. 1 & 2 and F250 National therefore triggering the A, B & C group format to be used.

F125 ICC class will probably share the track in the qualifying heats with the F210 National class (rear of the grid) but number of entries will decide this. The final timetable will obviously be confirmed when we know the exact entry levels so could be subject to alterations.   All classes will have their own GP final.

There is still time if you wish to support the GP by taking an advert in the event programme. Other support packages are available and your support would be very much appreciated. Please contact Ian Rushforth on 01509 620702 for details
