An almost complete spare gearbox - ideal for playing around with gearing. The background Previously owned by Louise Collin, this came with the kart we bought last year. Sam did really well on the straights at his first race at Mallory in May last year and kept pace (on the straights) with the leaders. It was his first race so still getting used to 2 strokes and hairpins! I believe the higher gears are ideally set fort this type of racing. There are a few CRS engines out there but obviously less well known in this country than TM. That does not make it any less of a competitive engine. they are actually very well built robust engines. The honesty bit, The main reason for selling is that this is close to requiring a rebuild (8 ish hours so far) and I believe this will need to include the gearbox. However, as you can see I am including an almost complete gearbox so many spares may be available from that. I am just getting to grips with 2 stroke carbs and don't have the expertise or time to start swapping gearbox parts. The other reason is that I already had a rebuilt TM so to save money just switched onto that rather than have the annual rebuild costs. Also, we don't really need the internally geared MSA Long Circuit set up as we mostly race at Darley. So there you go, a decent engine with loads of spares. I am not looking for a great deal of money as this is in need of a rebuild, just a fair price somewhere around £300 with all the spares. May consider selling without the carb for £200. The Chassis was bought in March 2011 and has done 6 rounds since then with no accidents, bumps of otherwise. The engine is a viper engine and as fully rebuild in Oct 2011 with new crank, new power valve blanking kit (new style), new head insert, new carbon V force petals and a new piston. The barrel was re plated in June 2011 by Aptec. I have always run this engine a little rich and you can see that in the fact that the piston is almost completely clean still. The engine has only done one race since the rebuild and is spot on and very fast. This is a complete retirement sale so that kart comes with 1 set of once used Dunlop dch/ddh slicks on rims and a set of 4 times used dch on rims. It also has a set of brand new KT11 wets on rims and a set of twice used KT11 on rims. There is also a kart stand, a full aluminium trailer (that the kart fits perfectly in), transponder, loads of spares including part used brake pads, chains, pedals etc etc. The kart also has a brand new and never used rear bumper, a new rad from Anderson that’s only seen one round and an Anderson steering rack. I have only ever done short circuit in this kart but I do have a set of long circuit bodywork however the rear wing is a single element Jade one with ally posts, I did use this on my old chassis but had to weld some tabs on to mount it). This kart won the 2011 DRKC 250 gearbox championship and also holds a Guinness World Speed record for the fastest MSA legal kart. It is right on the money and all you will need to get going is race wear as everything else is included, I’ll even chuck in a couple of fuel containers, oil measuring jug etc etc. Price for the whole lot is £3950. The trailer is 10feet long by 6 feet wide and about 6,3 high plated to carry 2.35 ton has boxes both sides to carry loads of kart gear,sits just the right height to roll your kart onto the boxes and store away safely. Approx 2005/6 complete with all running gear including exhaust,rad & pipes,water pump,sprockets main + drive, gear linkages, air filter, wire loom in fact all parts to convert a rolling chassis to a complete running kart.All in excellent condition & only raced professionally for one year in 2006. Kart then retired for the last 5 years & only done approx 4 careful track days.
Engine was rebuilt about 4hrs ago. Very strong & fresh 1st time starter & in excellent condition.Also loads of spares inc.
The only reason for sale is that my local circuit is to small & twisty for the gear box & much better suited to a rotax max hence the sale. Would also be up for a swop with a COMPLETE Rotax Max engine set up. Dont really want to sell the complete kart as the chassis is awesome & in superb condition. BUT if the right offer came in i could be persuaded .

Caliba Covered Seat
Caliba carpet covered (cloth covered) seat, generally used for Short Circuit although fine for Long if you have a young neck. This has no holes & never been fitted - I have 2 so you have a choice - still in wrapper. Its black cloth with Caliba in yellow where your shoulders go.

Kart Seat
F1 kart seat - this has never been fitted so no holes, generally a Long Circuit seat but no head rest as this is an additional fitted item so no issue for Short Circuit. I have 2 so you have a choice. This is a black fibreglass seat - Medium to Large.

Nose Cones
Long Circuit nose cone never fitted so will need drilling etc. They are black fibreglass nice and light with the 2 little vents to cool front brakes - I have 5 so you have a choice. They were bought for an ADE but all much of a muchness so will fit any kart.

6" Rims inc Tyres
Six inch rims with tyres generally Bridgestone some with wets on - these will come in the very handy wheel bags so no rolling around. All will have bead retainers fitted as per class rules. Tyres will be fine for practice.

5" rims with tyres on would have gone on a 125cc but will fit any kart with the same PCD. Some slicks + some wets.

There have been reports of offers to purchase kart equipment coming from West Africa, and Nigeria in particular. The usual form is that the 'buyer' (who often has a .co.uk or other European email address), poses as a kart dealer and requests further information and pictures of the kart being sold. Very soon after an offer is made in which it's usually stated that payment will be made by a bank cheque in Sterling and drawn on a British bank. At this point the buyer will usually mention that the amount of the cheque will be far in excess of the agreed amount for your equipment. As you are an honest and trustworthy person (you are, aren't you?) the buyer will temporarily entrust you with the extra money, but asks you to return the difference to them.
Once you receive the cheque (which looks perfectly valid) you cash it at the bank, wait for it clear and once you have the money in your account you send the agreed balance back to the buyer. They will almost always request that you pay the balance back to them using wire transfer or Western Union Money Transfer - both processes are virtually instant and irreversible. However, several weeks later your bank may contact you to advise that the cheque was counterfeit, and you are required to repay the amount to the bank. The buyer has disappeared (or now operating under another name from a different email address) and you're out of pocket for a lot of money - ouch!
Remember: If you're approached with an offer like this it's highly likely to be either money laundering or some other illegal proposal. Don't get involved! It's a variation of a worldwide scam that has been running since the early 1980's - in it's more common form people usually receive an email, letter or fax promising you a cut of tens of millions of pounds/dollars if you help the person get money out of his country. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
